Popular baits

Fishing method

The fixed sinker drift rig is designed to target a variety of small to medium sized species in various water depths. Simply cast or drop the baited rig into the desired location, wait until it settles onto the sea floor and wait for a fish to come calling. Fishing outfits may be placed into secure rod holders in between takes but reel drags should always be backed down when this is done to avoid broken or lost rods. Always remember to wait until the fish has your bait securely before striking!

Terminal tackle used

Swivel – Small size 8 to medium sized 2 three way or cross line.

Hook – Small to medium sized 6 – 2/0 suicide, ganged, long shank, wide gap or bait holder.

Hook Leader – Nylon or fluoro carbon 12 – 40lb breaking strain.

Sinker leader – The sinker leader should be lighter in breaking strain than the hook leader in case of snagging.

Sinker – As light as conditions allow, size 1 – 6 snapper or tear drop.

Depth range
